Vision: My Books and Taxes is a vibrant client-center accounting firm that empowers Lawyers to scale their firms through reliable and accurate financial information allowing them to achieve financial stability with a work-life balance so they can enjoy their success with their families and love their job again. 

Most Lawyers struggle with working long hours trying to grow their business. We help them create a customized plan to improve their workflows and processes so they can step out of the business to focus on growth and get the results they are looking for, get paid what they are worth, and find the time to live the life that they love.

The Firm

Founded in January 2017, My Books and Taxes was created with the purpose to work only for Small Businesses as ourselves, to help them understand the importance of keeping good records, not only for tax purposes but also to make informed financial decisions. ​

We are there for our clients in every step, whether that's figuring out when they can afford to hire a new employee, buy a new piece of equipment, estimate taxes, and implement strategies to save or defer taxes to the future.

As Certified Advance Pro Advisor we know QuickBooks inside and out. We know bookkeeping can become a time-consuming task and can be difficult to deal with. 

We are committed to educating small business owners on how to manage their business finances in order to build a sustainable business. We provide our clients the ability to align functions and priorities to improve cash flows, increase efficiency, and reduce stress.

Karla Navarro

EA, B.S in Accounting,Founder

Originally from Venezuela, I am an Enrolled Agent, admitted to practice before the IRS, B.S in Accounting, Advanced QBO Pro Advisor, and with more than 18 years of experience as an internal accountant for small and medium-sized businesses. 

I am extremely detail-oriented and organized. I create workflows and introduce technology for automation of processes, with the intention to minimize errors and increase profits.

I love spending time with my family, rock climbing, and running (if I have the energy). I'm also a dog lover!

My goal with this firm is to grow to a size where we can continue offering great services and provide great value while loving our jobs, our clients, and the relationships created along the way. For us? We just want to have a good living, vacations, and save for retirement at an age when we can still dance and enjoy life!  (we are ok flying economy).

Ana Montero

Professional Bookkeper

My name is Ana Gabriela Montero. I am proficient in Accounting with a Master's degree in Finance. Numbers and customer service are my passion.

I have several years of experience in leading corporate roles that include: travel and expenses processes, financial analysis, finance for partnerships in both Private and Public sectors in several countries around America.

I share the passion and discipline I put in my career alongside my favorite sports: running and swimming!

I also founded a non-profit organization for the rescue of street dogs back in my hometown, Venezuela.

I share the vision of My Books and Taxes for helping our customers to achieve their biggest potential through healthy and good accounting management.

Andrea Ocariz

Venezuelan girl with studies in Accounting and Customs Administration and over 12 years of experience in customer services, sales, and accounting systems.

Highly detail-oriented, organized, and integrity are my strengths to help your business grow from a financial point of view.

I'm in a constant learning process, growing professionally to provide the best service to minimize accounting errors. Clean-up projects are my specialty, it provides customers with a fresh-clean start to take control over their businesses.

I’m currently living in New York where I enjoy outdoor activities with my family, my passion is cooking!
